Some of the main objectives of BDF is

• To connect, collaborate, network, promote, share knowledge and reach out
• To conceptualise, plan, develop and support in implementation of developmental projects.
• To document, conserve, preserve and promote traditional knowledge, art, culture and festivals, literature, music, dance, handlooms, handicrafts, sports and heritage of the Boro community.
• To mentor, motivate, counsel and help students from schools, colleges, institutions and universities for career building.
• To provide financial, medical, food, and others forms of assistance including logistics to the affected people during times of crisis.
• To publish new developments in arts, culture, language and literature, music, sports, and films related to the community through print and digital media.
